Embrace it

I did not want a sculptured afro I wanted curls or whatever I could get for twist out braid out. I was willing to put the work in. Last night I put a whole bunch of braids in my hair used up time I could have spent with leon on his b day and when I took it down and I got nothing. So I said embrace it. And you know what I have gotten about 4 compliments already. 

Only two laps

I wasn't even going to go but I said why not. I got a mile in. I did two different directions. Left the house and went right (steeper hills) then when I got back to the house I turned around and went back the way I came to see which gave the better workout. I will go right when just walking go left when jogging.

Much better

I still looks like a wish but I have some definition. It still feels dry so I am a work in progress I want healthy soft and definition. Don't give up.

Wash n go

I am feeling my dry hair (yes I have my hands in my head) and I am loving the wavy hair. I want that kind of afro. So I am looking and looking for a wash n go tutorial that I can use. Wish me luck!

Exercise

I did it after knit night but I did it and I am tired. I started my c25k and it was hard even though I have been walking for a couple of days. 

I forgot

Although I chickened out on the afro, I totally forgot that I have enough natural hair to attach a ponytail to! It's the little things. When I get my twists out together watch out there now!

I chickened out

I held my nappy head high I did not cry I made it. But that took alot. Therefore I went to the fall back. Gel and plastic hair. And with a whole bunch of gel my natural hair (in the front) looks good please pray that it looks this good in the morning.

Go me

I did 2 miles this morning in a little over 30 mins and just now I created my own c25k track. Downloaded a pod cast or something and added my music to it. I am so proud of myself!

Still not right

Still dry twist and braids have little definition and they are fuzzy. I think it all about finding the correct products.  I don't think I washed it correctly either I know I did not rinse it with cool water to close the folicle which is probably why it is fuzzy. But I am ok don't feel like crying. 

Sleepy but done

I did little braids all over except the front hope the stuff I put in my hair dries we will see can't wait. But now I am sleepy.

mhomemade frappe

Saw the Mr. Cofee frappe machine and found the recipes for it. Decided to try it myself and it came out great.

Here I go

I am going to take my braids down and let my afro out. Yall pray for me. Here is the plan baking soda wash deep conditioning acv rinse then seal in my moisture and style it. Since my hair has been in braids so long I think baking soda will get it real clean. wi will keep you posted.

I am loving it just converted a pattern to text cool beans!

Preader

i have discovered how to take my pdf books and turn them into a format my Preader app can use (txt) I used the program Calbre and it will convert a pdf into what ever you want. So when I get my Ipad I will be good to go. I have started converting the Sookie stackhouse series. can't wait to find more books. My bond magazines are too big. Hey lets try a pattern book. still might be too big with the pic but it is worth a try.

Since I got the new bead it sparked renewed interest in pandora beads. So while on ebay checking out beads I bought 15 murano beads for $3 all with free shipping. I got to stay off of ebay.

My baby bought me this for our anniversary. I was so exciteed one i was not expecting anything or anniversary had come and gone. I wanted this bead too. I am beaming!

Ready for the front

I finally finished the back today and I am ready to start the front. Can't wait to get my lace carriage so I can make another one for christmas.

Life

Look at that I have some veggies growing! I need to put this either in the ground or a much bigger pot. I am proud of myself I usually forget to water my plants. I really atribute the growth to all the rain we have gotten. 

Finally finished

I finally fished this dress. I made this before mekhi was born and he is almost two. I made one for me and one for lela. Mine is now a skirt and I put on a black top and I keep on going.  Need to make another set and coordinate something with mekhi. Like he can wear a red or white top with some black shorts. Yes let me work on that. We can take pics on memorial day. I need some yarn. A cotton hip length halter top would be so cute. Even caron simply soft. As you can see I am in design mode.  Just need two skeins of caron and a swatch. Do scoop neck maximum coverage. Now that sounds cute. You would not be able to tell me anything.

something new

This dress I know I can make on the knitting machine. Here is what I am thinking. A line dress thigh length (thigh length should hit above the knee on me if not wear some tights or not) short sleeves and scoop neck. now I am not sure if the neck is going to dip a low as hers but that is ok too. ribbing on the bottom of the dress sleeves and neck line sounds pretty easy. the author used bamboo cotton I was thinking Comfort. it is going to take akot of comfort for my size.

I love this fabric

I am lining my bag with this beautiful fabric but I also want to make as many summerlins I can. It has a coordinating fabric as well so cool!

Ooh! Summer Time. Once it stop raining it's time to break out the linen and the bright colors. I am ready!

A complete project

Get out of town I completed a project. This was fun to make. I am very proud of myself for turning it into a machine knit pattern. I really need to work on my sewing skills. The recipient's mom wants one to fit her. Sadly I do too. I was thinking I can make it a tube top. It doesn't need to have straps. Yes, I need to work on that. It's all about the numbers right. I tried to make some soakers on the bond using my different number but I did not have enough cotton so I am thwarted by non suffient amount of yarn. It ain't the first time.

I did it . It needs a button then I will present it to my co worker. Hope she likes it and it fits her little girl.

This is some very pretty fabric for a very pretty clutch I still need a closure I was thinking a zipper too but do I have to get a colored zipper?

Machine Knit Summerlin Top

I made this top on the knitting machine click the link to acess it. I liked how it turned out. Making one for my little next. Pink. She loves pink. need fabric for the yarn but i think i know just the fabric.

Smokin

The kx350 is smoking I made a hat and two pairs of socks this weekend. I love how comfort knits up I need some comfort sock yarn man that is going to be soft I hope the receipent of the hat and socks likes it. Haven't made anything for oneelse's baby in awhile.

The pair

Here ya go a set within a night. I do need more practice. I thought I want a neater cast on so I tried crochet instead of double e yes stick with double e crochet has no give.  Also my grafting is the worst really need more practice.  But all in all not bad for two hours worth of work.

Sock

I made a sock onthe brother 350 go me now make another.

Cold treat on a hot day

I am very glad  have an ice cream maker. I made some kool aid and put too much sugar (easy to do) I thought it would make great icees so pull down the ice cram machine I did!

Shredhead May Challenge

I exercised yesterday we did a mile on the last lap I timed us we did a half mile in 7 mins. Not bad for pushing and stroller accompanied by a 6 year old who really just wanted to get back to the tv.

Anthropologie clinging blossom cardigan

I am making this cardi by following presser foot sewing blog using felt. This will match the childrens pink and white outfits. I am still working on the fiona top on the last repeat of the back. Stay tuned.

May challenge

I just started shredheads may challenge. The challenge is to workout everyday in may. I only did a mile but I did something and I am wore out shame shame.

So far so good

I am at 7th lace section. Yes any problem I had with the pattern was all me.  The pattern is going smoothly. I will be finshed before mothers day. They will probably wear light colored jeans and a white top. Lela actually has a pair of light pink jeans. I am glad I bought the pattern $9 and all. It is a very pretty top. Maybe make a navy blue one for christmas? Comfort comes in the prettiest colors. Maybe by then I will have the guts to knit it in the round.

Taking a break

So far so good here is where I am taking my break for today. 3rd lacepattern- section row 5. I was going to try do this in the round but I am not ready I barely know how to do this straight. Maybe with more practice I can do it in the round. Trying to see what she is going to wear with this tunic.

I am back

And just like that I am back. Did some research online found a calculator that does the increases for you. Thank you knitting fiend. So I am up to the first back part. I read after the third something then join in the round. It is late I will look it up tomorrow. But after that one hurdle it was a breeze.

Mother's Day top

I am trying to make a dress and matching vest for my children by mother's day. I broke down and bought the fiona top. I read many people who bought the pattern say it was not a really good pattern but I figured v6 the bugs would be out. Tell you the truth, bugs are probably out and I just don't know what I am doing.  Sent a tweet to ravelry. Emailed the designer and a message to someone who already made the top. I am pressed because I don't have much time. I do need to make a swatch for mekhis sweater. Am I going to do ribbing or garter stitch to match the dress?

I am thinking I might make this it would look great with my white tuxedo shirt and my white ruffle top as well. But now maybe I should start lower you know ballet tee first this sweater is a beast.

Third time is the charm

Ok so this is my third time making this scarf. First time it made it too wide. Second time I made it to small. This one is just right. My goal is to make a good size scarf with just the 200 yds. But, I am so glad if I want to add another skein I do not have to go back to Raleigh. Gate city yarns has a nice selection of malabrigo yarn. I am thinking of another scarf to match with my black or purple coat.

Raleigh NCEE Meeting

A good time was had so much so we forgot to take pictures. We had Lela taking pictures with my phone because I left my camera in the car. So sad I know. But we had a great time. I even bought yan at both stores! I bought some malabrigo at shuttles and cotton fleece at great yarns. I was so thankful Great yarns had a basket of toys. At shuttles Mekhi was throwing the yarn balls like baseballs. I just knew we were going to get put out. Ooooh! We are doing a knit along with niki from nik knits! She is going to design a tank top and we are all going to knit one! I can't wait so get your mercerized cotton ready ladies. All those not in attendace we missed!

I am hooked on this show. Parenthood (comes on right after biggest loser) but V is better I will probably have to catch up on Parenthood on hulu. I spent my tuesday blogging. Started another blog dedicated to my hunt for the great taco (great white buffalo (hot tub time)). Next time i eat a taco i will blog about it very soon after. I skimmed or overheared something on tv about blogging about a resturant while you are in a resturant.

Machine knit felted slippers

I don't think they felted all that well. I knew the hell was not going to make it so now I have some slides. 
I having so much trouble with the mohair ballet slippers this is my first time doing short rowing by hand and I have two kids so I will need to have total concentration I will have that back one day.

Ah Ha! found it. I have seen many people make this bag on ravelry. I have made one but mine did not come out like this (you know squarish). So I copied the pattern and put up a link so now you can have it too. Enjoy.

She gave it all she had

This wig has been with me since oct. I have worn her out. I learned many things. I loved her. But now she is broken down. I broke the drawstring and I did try and put it back but she just aint the same. So now it is on to braids.

Continued great taco search

What the hell? Premade taco shells. I shouldve know something wasn't right when when she said ground beef and not steak. Now don't get me worng I am going to eat them but I won't be back. Listening to a co worker he recommended this place. And I only got three instead of the usual four the wer flags I chose to ingnore them. Always people listen to youe gut!
