Tried to buy a sweater that matched my bags like my co workers ended up getting a granny sweater so i am taking it back but had to get in a few shots with the bag. it does do well with the bags!

this is a little sweater for a coworker's baby girl due this summer. Made some matching booties as well. Plan is to make a purple set as well out of bernat cotton tots. I made this out of the yarn I got from knit picky in winston salem.

I kind hate to felt it

not sure if Iwant to make it longer or not I am the end of my two balls of cascade do I make it longer then felt it or do I just felt it now? Button hole handles or no buttonhole handles

Baby thorpe

not really sure if you see it that good took a quick snap shot when getting ready for school (on the way out of the door actually) his is blue and black with black ear flaps. I did not edge it yet. Not sure if I will.

All this with 2 balls

I have completed all of this with only two balls of cascade! And look at that pretty green. I don't know what I am doing wrong but my green bag on the plastic 15s is working up well. But my yellow bag on the wooden (I think bamboo) 15s is a pain. The stitches keep getting stuck.

I am gonna do it

last year Iwanted a green and yellow bag and this year I will have one. But I am I am gonna do it I am going to make me a muppet and rock it. To go over the top I may even quilt it. Never seen that now have you?

looking though digiscrap blogs and came across a free coffee tumbler quick page but I wanted mine more custom than just my name with a little internet research found a free blank template now the sky is the limit the pic is of my valentine tumbler.Oh what about a black history month tumbler!

Not quite right

I thought that I could just continue in the round although the pattern clearly said not to and so my apple cozy did not turn out quite right!

Apple cozy

I know I am blogging everytime I think it is because I can. I got cocky and messed up on the pink apple cozy. Saw this red yarn and restarted with it. Made it to row 16 without a mess up. Pattern says start knitting back and forth so we will see

Too Cute

This dress is too cute! It has pockets too but it really is a simple tube with ribbing on top and bottom and two straps. How cute would my baby be? Now mine would not be that jazzy and probably made with redheart yarn.

now I can make my scrapbook book pages and print them 8x8 go me ! each child has their own photo album leon was like why do you need three scrapbooks? "because I want three"

Crafting trials

My family was gone to visit grandma so I crafted made this ice cream in about 1-2 hours. Not bad

For her wedding, Monica gave all her attendats and hostess a bag with that had flip flops and some other things in it. I want to do the same. I want to make the bag though. so i thought i could so a straw bag since it is summer time. so i bought the above pictured seagrass for $2.50 not bad. only to get the hot mess you see on the needles aslo pictured aboved. I tried it all together barely made a stitch so I untwisted to the plys and what is on the needles is what i got. so I need a new plan. I was telling Raena i need another plan she is going to try with suede yarn. I may try with straw colored crochet nylon. Nita Says just buy the bags! I may do that. Nita also said she may have some smaller sea grass at her house . she used to make baskets. if nothingelse that sea grass is going to make somr cute handles.


Look at my nephews they are only 12 and 11 but look how big they are i will try to post a pic of them as babies. Like my friend they have the nerve to grow up.

My chunkball

My chunk ball is 4 months old today. Crafting.... I did make a thorpe i did not do the garter sts so my ears came out too long. I am making one for chunkball and I am doing the garter ridges. I also want to make a straw bag so I am looking for raffia jute straw something. I found some raffia 80 yards at michaels not sure if that is going to be enough. And I found it in a blue that is close to the wedding colors. I am trying to make straw bags for my bridesmaids you know summer wedding and I thought that would be cute.

Oh yeah I went there!

This is me and my baby at the panthers game! It was cold but I was happy to be at a NFL game I did not care.

On a crafting note I am crafting. I made a hat for a coworker a mjb can you believe it I was requested! I was going to make me a black one but decided to make a thorpe (you can find it on Ravelry) Now I may not be able to fit it I am making it with red heart super saver and size 5 circs and I did magic loop (go me!)I figure I wll do the large size and see whaer that lands me. Someone will be able to fit it. I am only on row five and my second start. I was rolling last night so much so that I was not paying attention to the pattern and I was all wrong so what start over! But it is not a bad pattern pretty easy if you ask me but then again I am only on row 5. This wil be my first hand knitted hat. Mine you I am thinking of how I can make this on the knitting machine.
Why a helmet hat you ask. A co worker found one in target and we were both like that is cute! I found a free pattern on Ravelry and here I am. Wish me luck.

Crochet Cable Hat

I made this hat for khi khi and i thought all should see it in action!
You know I made this hat about 4 times (two for Khi and two for aiden) and each one I made different. You cannot really see the cable detail in the striped pattern.

Unexpected Snow

it was not even that much snow but she had to get out in it. If you can tell she took all the snow she could get off the car and made a snow cake.

Oh Yeah!

I am going to make some fiber art work. Over at crochet by numbers group todd made a picture of obama smiling. He takes pictures and converts them to crochet graphs. You got to go there to really get the idea. My point is i want to make the Obama Smiles picture into a shopper. the trend i have noticed is large bags with short handles you carry in the crook of your arm. long story short I did my sample pattern with ease and now I am doing the sample pattern correctly (I did not do the cut and tie in the first sample)
I am concerned though. I was reading and it says the pictures are better viewed for afar that is why most people hang theirs on the wall as art. One lady did make hers a blanket. And it is going to be too big at 75 rows wide.

The plan is to make the bag in three pieces, picture, base, back. I want the same base as the shopper but crocheted.

Halloween

Halloween was great. You tell we are really in a depression way less houses offering candy than the years before. the ridley's stopped by. I was amazed they were witches too! Even Mekhi had on a costume he was Mummy's boy! And at first he was not going to go with us but daddy had to work so I bundled him up. The pakn was to get out of the car and walk around but with the house giving out candy so few and far in between i just drove. Now when I was little I would have killed to drive from house to house neighborhood to neighborhood. Any way so Mekhi was bundled up for nothing. He was probrably sweating!

Poor Lela she did all that work only to get in trouble. She still hasn't eaten her Halloween candy!

Voter Rally At A&T

Do ya'll want some of the Jigga man! Jay Z , Russell Simmons and Kevin Liles came to A&T. Each only spoke for a few minutes. I think they were trying to get people to the early voting poll which is the whole point. You can see all three in the picture. Of course Lela was there too miserable as usual! Mekhi slept the whole time Thank you.

I have tried my hand at creating cellphone wallpaper Even made my own birth announcement. Digital scrapbooking has so much potential!I took the same 4x6 announcement and made a desktop wallpaper just increased the size. I am smokin!

Homecoming was a blast. A&T's and Livingstone's. Livinstone's was the homecoming of the century everybody came back there was at least 11 of 25 of my Line sisiters there. Now last year was our 10yr anniversary and only 7 showed up! but I am thankful for all who did show up. Tashia and May were there we have not seen them in what 5 years. Octavia showed up too. See homecoming of the century. I was like it is going to snow. You know the weather man was calling for frost that monday! Put it this way homecoming was so great i almost brought my children just so i would not miss the game! And I dont bring my children becasue I do not want to be mama at homecoming.

blogging from the phone

I have got this baby spoiled rotten. Nursing is going great now that I have the lanolin. Can you believe he is almost 6 weeks? He will be a month old on the 8th it does not even seem like a month has gone by. With my first the six weeks took its time I was glad to go back (I don't know why) but now I dread it. I undestand what dimples 74 means when she wants to cry because the baby is gowing up so fast. That is part of the reason why I am spoiling him because he is my last baby no moe teeny weeny ones for a long time. I will not miss the early morning feedings but the smallness (if that is a word).

Crafting? I bought the little loafer pattern and made 1 and 1/2 loafer out of the microspun I had left over and some hats for the baby. I felt so shamed I had him out in the hat he came home from the hospital in. other than that that is about it. I saw these knitted ballet flats from coco knits I want to try.
