How I would make

Ok this is the Neat Knit Glam Ma Duster. It look pretty simple to remake. I am thinking:

4 yds of 60" (45" may work)

Hamburger fold (the fabric comes selvage edge to selvage edge (hot dog fold) open up and fold in half top down. you should have a fold on top and two yards front and back)

Sew up the side leaving a 9" opening on both sides.

Fold the entire garment in half and cut only the front layer all the way to the top.

Now, this is what I did. This idea just would not go away until I tried it. I went to Walmart got a three-yard fabric bundle and tried it out. Three yards got me a knee-length Glam Ma cardi I m don't think it is a duster because it does not hit the floor, but the next one will. AYYYE!

Back At It

Left is inspiration right is actual.

Dress

Two width of fabric by 52" (give or take) sewn together

Added pockets 12' below my armpit.

Create a 1" casing for the elastic and done.

Sleeves

I probably should have interfaced and then they would be puffier.

I measured my bicep and the part of my forearm where I wanted the sleeve to stop.

Cut a piece of elastic for each.

Did one-panel width of fabric and the length I wanted I think it might be 18-20" made the same 1 " casing and added elastic. so the sleeves are separate but you can tack them to the dress if you wanted.

When I say the width of fabric this fabric was 56-58" wide.

Easy Peasy

A Soror wants one of these dresses. I am thinking I need to know here height and upper bust measurement. We will see.

More 10 Min Panties

I found some more 4 way stretch fabric. I even cut the pattern so I could make a pair from smaller scrap pieces. The heart shape is what  I could make by hand since my cricut is at work. I even sold a pair. She wants lips and the quote eat me. Lol. I told her they don't fit she said that's ok.  See she understands Hoochie Secret  tag line "It's not supposed to fit!"  I need to quickly make some cards, tags and thank you cards.

Non Stretch Turbans

Using this  Turban pattern I skipped the elastic and added the band to the body (I did not cut it separately)

10 min panty

I made some undies. Makerists is having a $2 pattern sale and I bought this pattern. It really is as easy as the title.  I wanted a pair that did not require elastic. I added some htv just because. Anyways my Hoochie Secret line is coming to life.

DIY Desk Calendar

I used a template from Canva.com. I only had to add the dolls. These dolls I made myself and (cheap plug) you can buy them from my shop at www. cr8tivelychic.com.

I do not have a cinch but I have an Ibico machine and it does coil and comb binding.  Luck would have it these click combs (?) fit great and easy to modify with scissors.

The cover is right on time because I didnt know how to create the tent part. but I did not let up and found a printable template online.

You assemble a desk calendar the same way you assemble a notebook the tent and the cover face to face so the center of the wire/click comb is hidden in the middle.

Thanks for stopping by.

Pantashoes

I still need  a top but here they are
they are a bit loose but I am still going to wear them . Lord I need to lose weight.
Maybe a solid pair next?

Happy New Year! Bring it 2020!

Over the two week break, I tried my hand at making boot covers (again).  Last year I made an actual boot cover but there was a seam in the middle. That would not have worked for the sequins I had.  Plus my sequins were not stretchy.

I decided to tackle it once again. I saw this video and thought hmmm why not try.

BAM! So... what did I do? I actually used a legging pattern Pegs ( this is a free pattern) I traced the pattern from the shortie down and added ten inches for my foot then round off the pattern (with a plate use what you have).

I put the shoe in the sock and cut a tiny hole in the seam at the heel. Viola!

These took about one yard of two-way stretch fabric and they do not have a band at the top.  With that legging pattern, you could theoretically make a pair of the Balenciaga pants boots. Maybe for CIAA? Too much?

Anyway if you are still reading here is one more pair I made. This was less than a yard (I did not measure) I was able to make the band. Still may add elastic in the band. I really love the slouchy look.

Tent Dress

I kept seeing so many people make these tent dresses I decided to make one. I was afraid to waste 6 yards of fabric so I tried with two yards. The pictures above are my second try. The first sadden me so I just went to sleep.

Mermaid Sequin Clutch

I saw Bag Junki make a mermaid sequin clutch.  Hers is better (sequins on both sides). Anyway  I thought oooh I can make that with those same pillows in Hobby Lobby just add a zipper.  Pillow cover is less work but sequins only on one side.  Oh and only $5 on Ebay! you can also find a mermaid sequin pillow at Walmart for $10.

This is the light weight M7262 I mentioned in the last post.  Came out great.  I really want to make another one but that maybe going too far.  I am now thinking of a M6844 view B nice simple cardi. I have some nice sweater knit that is the fall burgundy/wine color that is trending this fall.  But I am not sure if I want to do a sweater dress with that.  I have styled both waterfall cardis with black dresses I need to pin other ways to style these.

Fall sewing

September is national sewing month.  Although I am in school I am going to squeeze in some sewing.  Just back from the beach and I stayed up all night because I was bound and determined to get in some sewing Lol! The pattern I used was M7262.  The fabric is from fabric mart. It an easy pattern.  Seeing how I left off the buttons.  Just going to wear it open.  I have been saying for some time now that I need to step up my cardigan game. This pattern was very big last fall.  I can see why some people made so many.  I have a lighter weight one made with mesh knit planned for tonight.

My Travelers Notebook

Hey, I diy'ed my travelers notebook (TN)  but I love it.  I am currently thinking  how to reduce it down to just two books my journal and my planner.  I need either to add a small piece to the back or make a whole new cover.  Right now I have my journal (the pic on the front is not mines I copied it for Erra the creator on Instagram I love her art work),
I have my food journal. I am thinking if I could reduce this to an insert in the planner.

My food at a glance sheet I am either going to add it as a page in the food journal insert or make it a one page insert into my planner either way this separate section is going away as well as my habit tracker  which I am still getting used to using .  I may add a list of books I have read for the year but not sure.  I like this set up.  The TN fits easily in my clutches. now to add a pen loop and a charm.
