Right quick

 I made a top out the skirt from a dress I got from the thrift store. The idea came from Shay She is my best friend in my head.I also made these shorts.  Just cut a pair of Capri's into shorts.  I did a double seam they look so store bought. LOL!

Today is the last Wednesday of the month half off everything at value village the bolt of fabric $1.75. Sheet $1. Golf cart ( I think that is a golf cart) $6. The sheet will be a peplum and gathered skirt. Oh yeah. Not sure what I am going to do with the bolt of fabric other than give half to my mother in law. It is a heavy material but I think I can still make a something wearable.

Still trying

To fix my dress I took it in about an inch it is still not right it just screams homemade! It is not bad when you out a blazer on but what if I have to take off my blazer. I need some professional intervention. I think I am going to break down and go to Cheo.

Great combo

Saw this On Pinterest and I had to have it. Made mine out of an old t shirt of Leon's it has hip pockets but I kinda like them so they are going I stay. I love that I can make it today wear it tomorrow.

Teal dress

It was supposed to be a maxi like my inspiration. Lesson learned 3 yds not 2. I think it is too big and my seams are a bit bunched that may be fixed with ironing. All in all it is wearable. It kinda looks like pjs.

The plan

Is to make a peplum and skirt I can wear separately or together like the pic ! Just need to find the time.

TCH Summer Swagger Event

I have been line dancing since March. This is my second line dance party. I was ready and excited. Then all of tack was going to be present I was over the top kid on Christmas!

Last weekend my MIL was making this pattern I loved it and she bought me one! Got my fabric ready.

I bought a sheet and pillow case at the thrift store the other day for $3.50 this is what I did with pillowcase.

A Doozy

I have been working on this skirt for about two weeks. I was so frustrated. It was testing me! Finally after my 5 th or 6 th try at the gathers I gave up. Bump it make a casing put some elastic in there and call it a day. I made my sash too long so I only needed half but all in all it came out GREAT! I have to pay special attention to the sash or else I will have sash on top skirt in the bottom and that is not cute! Now to make my plaid one. Making the skirt with casing instead means I can definitely make more I want a neon yellow one.

Sewing fail

I made this dress. The top is too big. I was trying to make Mimi G's off shoulder maxi. I cut the size 20. Is is fine on the bottom to me but the sleeves. Which wasn't as bad as I thought even though I put one sleeve on wrong and had to redo the whole elastic casing over. I thought the elastic was too long so I shorten it. But it still too big. One lady made it and hers was too big as well hers didn't have sleeves. Any who. That is that.

Another pair of shorts

Ok here is my second pinspiration. I am in love! I am wearing that simplicity pattern out. And yes I have another pair of shorts on deck right after I finish my two knee length skirts. If I haven't said it before sewpaloosa! This is why I haven't knit a thing and my girlfriend has a grand baby coming. I still want some sequins shorts I just need the fabric.

Pinspiration

I saw this tablecloth in thrift store and instantly thought that it would pair well with my gingham top just like I pinned some time ago. I was up all night trying to finish these shorts and a lace pair as well when I finish them I will post that pinspiration. I have another tablecloth creation on deck (that makes three floral tablecloth lace tablecloth and a solid Kelly green tablecloth).

Mermaid dress

Before you ask I cut this up and made a pencil skirt. Something about it I did not like I used my drafted t shirt pattern for the top and I had extra fabric in the sides I did. Not like that the skirt was not long enough I did not like that. I need another sheet I want my top and skirt to be all one piece I drafted that mermaid part and in theory it looks fine I am going to purchase mi mi mermaid pattern even though a lady on you tube has a free one. I may play around with the you tube pattern first. You know I did not draft the sleeves of my t shirt. Lol!

Still sewing

I made this maxi out of a curtain blogged about that haul already. Final got around to making it. I thought it was going to be shorter but when I held it up I saw it would make a maxi. It had a topper and I thought I was going to make a skirt for the baby but as I was sewing I thought I could add pockets to this so there went the baby's skirt. Still have the curtain tabs I can make both babies bow ties.
I did a flat twist out on my hair. I started too late but it still came out kinda cute.

Pattern drafting

Look who is drafting patterns! Now what I made did not fit but that may have something to do with the stretch being in the wrong direction and no seam allowance. But they look like swim suit bottoms( ok underwear) but you get the idea. Next up basic tee!

Three year hair anniversary

2013 makes three years natural. I like to get my hair straightened so I can see how far I have come. This round was a doozy. I thought ,ok let's say hoped it was longer that what it is. I know never satisfied. I was really going for arm pit length. My journey is my journey. My hair has never been this long before.

Pinspiration

Made this last night and we killed the pitcher. Came out great. I ran out of tequila but it taste good with just beer limeade and cherry soda.

Fish tacos

I made these fish tacos yesterday fish cilantro onions and a radish. I also made some with veggie crumble tacos as well. I needed more salt so I need to work on that. I also made a drink with tequila corona frozen limeade cherry 7 up we killed the whole pitcher. I also made a fancy guacamole ( reg guacamole cheese tomatoes and green onions) he enjoyed his b day dinner. I want to make some tacos with soy chorizo I have to find some soy chorizo.
