These are the two I made for my co workers aunt. So now I can get back to my wrap. No. I was teaching my supervisor how to crochet and she was determined to make a hat without asking for help. It did not go so well and now I am making another cadet hat. At least it is not for me. I still need to make leons dontae hat I am going to finish my wrap. Same thing happened last year christmas crafting for others takes up most of december then I need a break then I get back on it. Now that I think about a red cadet or cabled hat to go with my cream christmas jacket would be great. Ever since I got that coat I have been craving red accessories for it.

No More Christmas Card Dilema

What card will I make this year? Last year I took so long deciding, my Christmas cards turned into Happy New Year’s cards.

Not this year. I am going to use Shutterfly for my Christmas cards. It is a great place for cards, invitations and gifts. All I have to do is take a picture. The plan is to dress up, go to the mall and use their decorations. That is what I did for Mekhi’s first Christmas.

Then pick from Shutterfly’s great collection.I can do the same thing for invitations.
My thought for Mekhi’s third birthday party invitations is to use three pictures from ages one to three and go from there. Select a cute invite already put together and excellently arranged and use the same card for thank you cards use photo cards and a picture from the birthday party and change the wording. But what can you do about gift ideas?
I am doing photo calendars for all of grandparents

and natural hair journals for my girls that took the plunge and went natural. Decorate the journals with an inspirational quote like, “There is no greater beauty than the real you.”

I will have cards and gifts done with time to spare!

Not bad at all

I am on like row 5 after the 30 rows of rib and it is really not hard I just need serois concentration.i want this finshed by dec 11 for the tack christmas party. So like I said real serious concentration. I am not even through one reapeat. My goal is one repeat a day. I should be done the week of the event then I just need some brown flat boots. I think it should take a solid 2 hours of no interuptions to complete 1 repeat. 1 hour at lunch and one at home should do it. Plan your work work your plan.

Not quite right

This was not quite right so I took down the cable and started doing 1x1 ribbing in the middle but I am thinking of taking it down. I saw a scarf on sweaterbabe and I love that look it is 12 in wide by 72 in long now I am seriously considering machine knitting it. The pattern I saw is a lace one but I was going to make mine plain. I need a swatch though. Was I going to do the fringe on the side yes. Sounds like a whole lot of yarn. Yeah project not sounding all that tempting now. Anyway I need some sleep.

I can't stop making these hats. They take like three hours straight. I feel very confindent about my pattern. I am going  to put plastic canvas in the brim. On both of these I need one more for my tack christmas bags. Now to find some rufffle yarn. If I find more blue yarn I will make a blue and gray maybe.  Man I need to go to sleep. I made the grey hat because my boss is making one and she is like it is too small. I am like how is it too small mine come out fine. So to prove my point I made the gray one. Now the blue one because I had some blue yarn. And then I am like one more and I can have one for each member of tack. Even though I already have three. But picture wise I need to have one too. Yeah some tweed yarn. Just need to go acmoore and pick one color you get two hats per skein. Like I said before what about scarves? Or just something to compliment the hat?

Aran honeycomb vest

I am going to make my version of the winter in france vest by twinkle. I am making the vest I made all last christmas. Finally making one for me. I am using the 17s for the ribbing. And the 15s or 13s for the aran honeycomb st. For the honeycomb st it needs to a mutliple of 8 sts so I casted on 128sts now I need a green top and brown knee high boots.

Entrelac complete

I am done I remember just a week ago I could not stand entrelac. What was I thinking. Entrelac is the best this going. Soon as I get some black nylon crochet thread actually I might use the rest of this green I have I am going to make a clutch. Yeah let me get on that it is only 8 tiers.

Now that I have the hang of this hat. I know I said I was done. But they go so quick. I like the look of the no plastic canvas but I don't like the way it sits on my forehead. I am currently making one for baby girl. Baby boy is next.

Steak express

I made this in the gt express. I bougt 6 little steak and the gt express cooks these babys like a dream. I made some home fries with bell peppers and onions ( the pepper stir fry kit is the best spent $2) put bell pepers and onions on top of the steak as well and bam protein starch and a veggie. Man I am full.

Cadet hat

I made it with caron and I was going through her pattern. Went out thirteen rounds did one round of dec still too big. Alright took it down this time did thirteen rounds but 72 sts (crochet beret pattern from cyca) then follwed her directions from sc in the front loop only on down and bam! Just right. I want to make another one with red heart and see what size I get. Right now I am not concerned with smaller heads just trying to get the pattern down right. Man 6 times for real! But worth it is 80 outside and I have a hat on my twistouts. It is just that cute.

I am going to wear out my arm

I made two hats and I am not happy yet. I thought the 72 sts was too big because it had a hump on top. So I went down to 60 and it was tight and lost it's box shape. Maybe being too picky. Anyway I am going to make another 72 one and call it a day. Wish me luck.

Cute pom poms

Ms. Toni said are going to add some pom pom I was like maybe. I really did not have any plans but she mentioned I was like what a great idea. So there you go. They came out cute need to make one for sabrenia she was the first to mention a ear flap hat one with the a&t on front.  We will see. I am ready to put a spin like cables or fair isle.

I fiddled with the ear flap hat pattern and this is what I got. I will make the third size for myself use key plate 3.5 and worsted weight. I did that for the one my baby is wearing. Gold one is for the baby. I need yarn to match our winter coats. I love them.

Homemade curl stuff

I put prostyle and she butter together. Put it on me hair put big corn rows and rollers on the end and this is what I got. It is still a bit soft the wet pieces dried softer than the dry. Reading recipes I 2/3 made curly pudding. 
Holding gel+moisture+shine
Pro style+shea butter+? Right now I have nothing for shine am really looking for something for shine I am thinking coconut oil.

Cabled baby hat

I was helping a lady who was making a cabled baby hat (really hope I helped her) and since I was 3 rows in (row 3 was where she needed help) I thought I might as well finish it. Not bad so now I have two hats and a jacket. I need to get on the hats for my kids.

I used hollie to make some letterhead this will be great on natural hair journal business cards I can go on forever. My hat and sweater is almost done need to print my thankyou / care instruction cards. But I need a green outfit for lollie or hollie.

I made this to coordinate with the garter st edge jacket I made on the machine. I love how it came out. I guess I need mittens. 

Yummy flounder po boy!

For the babys b day we had a fish fry just a few people no big deal. But I got some flounder from aldis and man I ate myself sick. That flounder was good as hell. I made po boys the next day and those were good as hell. Needless to say I enjoyed the fish. Next I want to try the flounder with zattarans fish breader.

i am in love

i have another one i will upload tomorrow she has a black dress with white polka dots i made the buttons blue and the trim blue I keep finding great.pat files. I am looking for s shiny.pat file so she can have patent leather shoes! like I said I am in love. Her name is debra ann so i need to get a really cute green outfit it is just so hard to pick o ne. And i did fine a green polka dot .pat it is very cute too. I made one lolli that had an orange afro. and i erased the headband when erasing the hair so i have to redo natural lolli to include the head band.

They don't stay babies for long

When my oldest was coming up I was in a rush for her to be independent. But I want my baby to slow down. Probably because I have my oldest to help. She is the greatest! Anyway. He is moving to the big boy room next week. No more sippy cups and learning to use the potty. I got to buy pull ups.

How satisfying machine knitting is. Took most of the day but I have a 80% complete garment. I have been trying for two weeks to get somewhere hell anywhere with my second fiona with no luck. This is my first sweater on the brother kx350. I don't know why but it is heavy. I made one side longer than the other and I hope blocking will solve my problem. I did buttonholes! Small buttonholes (only 1 yo). I plan on doing a pink and grey one not sure about doing it the same way. Did want to try my hand at the moss stitch jacket. I did this jackets edging by hand. My thought on the moss stitch jacket is to take away some stitches away from the left side and add them to the right side. I guess the moss stitch edges will be solid. I have to get a yarn needle to finish putting my sweater together. That is my knit night project. Can't wait to paint some of my doggie buttons to coordinate with my jacket. I pray I sew it together well.
